Subject: Good Timing Alert: Great Days Ahead; Lunar Eclipse May 4th; Mortgage Rates; and More!

Hello Everyone,

I have finally finished my part of the 2005 Good Timing Guide, so I can now get back to work full-time (still 4 days per week due to the family health crisis). Some of you are more alert than I've been lately and so I have a correction to make. I said in a recent email update that the next Great Day is May 11th. That's not quite accurate. May 11th is the next useable great day.

GREAT DAYS AHEAD! May 2nd and part of May 3rd
Yes they are immediately ahead. However, although these dates are "good" in the sense that they have good aspects from the Moon to the other planets, (meaning typically your projects would start well, go well in the middle and end well), they have a fatal flaw. They are within a couple of days of an eclipse. Starting something important within a week of an eclipse is a huge no-no. So use Sunday May 2nd to enjoy yourself and Monday May 3rd until the Time-Out, make whatever progress you can on your most important projects. But don't try to start anything new. It's way too risky with that eclipse so close at hand.

Lunar Eclipse Tues May 4th:
This is the second eclipse of the pair I wrote about earlier. We had the solar eclipse on April 19th. There is still an overall issue of someone not being able to handle their responsibilities and handing them over to someone else. But the secondary meaning of this eclipse is different. If you have a planet or sensitive point in your chart near 14 degrees Scorpio or Taurus, then you are likely to notice creative integration of new potentials and ideals coming into your life now. Developing new potentials takes time. Read the information on page 48 in your Guide for further details.

For the country, this eclipse suggests the country could get blind-sided by a financial crisis. (See below regarding a potential mortgage rates liquidity crisis!) In general, this eclipse occurs in the financial area (2nd house) of the country and shows jeopardy through speculative investments, higher interest rates, or unseen crises. Deception could also be involved. This is a great time to be sitting on the investment sidelines, until this mess sorts out. Take a tip from Warren Buffet. Get into cash.

Rise in Mortgage Rates Could Create Mortgage Liquidity Crisis
The Financial Times recently ran an article on how a rate rise could cause a mortgage liquidity crisis. If you think interest rates are not going up, think again. They can't stay this low forever. When they do rise, bond analysts are concerned that banks hold too many mortgage securities and could spark a liquidity crisis. US mortgage securities make up the largest bond market in the world, now with $5,309 billion of mortgage securities outstanding. Large US banks hold about $500 billion in mortgage securities, a record level that is up 28% from a year ago and up twice as much from March 2001.

Since interest rates fell so low, banks borrowed money cheaply and used it to invest in mortgage securities, which have complex structures and pay higher rates of interest than other comparable bonds. The bond market now expects the Fed to raise short-term interest rates soon. When this happens, holding these mortgage securities won't be so lucrative and many banks may try to dump millions of dollars worth of them at once. Since mortgage securities are often hedged with other types of bonds, a liquidity crisis in mortgage securities could impact other debt markets.

If you're holding mortgage securities in your portfolio, now would be a good time to exit! This is a good time to take a tip from Warren Buffet and be in cash.
